13 Years!

WOW!
What an anniversary!
Nana and Papaw had our kiddos for "GRANDS" week, so we headed out to
Greenville, SC for a few days to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary!
Our first evening away began with dinner at California Dreaming.
It was a favorite restaurant of ours back when we were dating at Presbyterian College.
Everything at California Dreaming was just as we remembered!
Even the flakey, light little rolls drizzled with honey butter!
MMMMMM!

After a quick change at our hotel, we headed over to the BiLo Center
to see my all time favorite band... RUSH!
Geddy Lee, Neil Peart, and Alex Lifeson ROCKED OUT!
Luke came to the concert because he knew it meant alot to me,
but he left a definite FAN!!!
Neil Peart's complex, amazing drumming will do that to you!
We were 14th row from the stage!!!

On Thursday we slept in and then enjoyed lunch at Chicora Alley.
Luke had heard about it through a friend at work and it did not disappoint!
My roast chicken burrito with plantain, spinach and peppers and
granny smith coleslaw was delicious!
After lunch, we explored downtown Greenville, admiring the little shops.
We went to see The Hangover 2 that afternoon
and then had supper at The Green Room.
The movie was CRAZY-CRUDE, and supper was one of the top meals we've ever eaten!
We couldn't decide between the shrimp and grits and
the meatloaf with jalapeno macaroni and cheese,
so we ordered both and shared.
It was really nice to have lots of uninterrupted conversation!!!
For dessert we tried The Chocolate Moose shop next door.
A death by chocolate cupcake finished off the night as we listed to the music of
Downtown Greenville Live!

On Friday we packed up and did a little shopping at the mall.
Then a late breakfast at Stax.
We enjoyed each other and certainly ate well this trip!
I am so thankful for my Lukey Dukey.
It's hard to believe that we have been together for 1/2 of my life this year!
I am 36 and we dated for 5 years before getting married in 1998.
God truly blessed me with THE ONE!
Luke takes care of us and puts his family first.
He means everything to me.
I don't deserve such a wonderful husband!!!

I hope we have at least 13 x 13 MORE happy anniversaries together!!!
