Happy Halloween!

We enjoyed our yearly Halloween tradition tonight...
Trick or Treating over at the Greshams' neighborhood!
I think we all agreed that the winner of funniest costume
this year, was little Claire as Snow White!
Her wig and bright red lips were the best!!!
As I write this post and add some of our Halloween photos,
Luke, Trey and Ambry slumber soundly... the result of SUGAR COMAS!
Much candy was consumed tonight and much fun was had by all!
Our spooky Halloween supper was a big hit!
Mummy Meatloaf, sawed off fingers, green google eyes, poison leaves,
and muddy milk to drink!
 The Greek goddess Athena!
 Indiana Jones!

After our spooky supper and a few photos at home,
it was time to go trick or treating!
Cap'n Jack Sparrow and Indiana Jones!
(Trey and Declan have been best buddies since they
were babies in the church nursery together.)
Toddlers and Tiaras, Buzz Lightyear, an Army Man, Snow White,
Indiana Jones, Cap'n Jack, the Mad Hatter, Elizabeth Swan, and Athena!
(Doesn't she make you laugh out LOUD!?)

Time out for a candy eating break!!!
Heading out to get MORE candy on different streets in the neighborhood.
If there's a wig around... Luke will find it... and wear it!
We look forward to this special night with friends every year!
Thank you Greshams!
We had a blast!!!

The Playoff Game

The Bonecrushers really played their hearts out today!!!
Sadly, we lost our playoff game... 14 to 7.
I love what Luke said after the game.
He said both teams played a heck of a game and were well matched!
The Blue Devils just outplayed us with a 97 yard TD run in the first quarter.
He said all of our boys played their very best and he was proud of each and every one!!!

 #57 did his job here!!!

Little sisters on the hill watching the game!

Not the final score we had hoped for.  :(
We are not ready for football to be over.
Coach Jeff talking to the team after the game and telling them
how proud he was of them all!
We got to attend a cookout after the game at the Glover's home.
They live out in the country on 31 acres of land and have horses!
Mayson rode Ambry around on her horse 'Classy'!
Little Tucker is a mini-pony!
It was a great night of food and fellowship,
of talking about the last game and the season,
and some backyard football of course!
We still have our final team party and awards night coming up!
We are going to miss our Bonecrusher Family so very much.

The Lil' Sizzlers

We can't believe it's over!
What a season!
Ambry's softball team, the Lil Sizzle
only lost 1 game ALL SEASON!
They played their last regular season game on Tuesday night, then played in a tournament on Wednesday and Thursday nights and they won all of those games!
We are so proud of the team!
They worked hard and played well and HAD FUN!!!
Coach Kelly sat them all down after their first tournament game to give them their
trophies from the season!  Lil' Sizzlers were #1!
On Thursday night, they played their last game of the season against the Heartbreakers!
The Lil' Sizzlers won, 19 to18!
Sweet Madelyn made the game winning hit!!!
Ambry loved playing third base this year!
She will move up to the 8U division in the spring.
We hope she will get to be on another GREAT team!!!
The girls cheering for the Heartbreakers as they got their medals.
Ambry getting her tournament trophy from Coach Greg.
Loved Ambry's silly face in this one!
We feel blessed to have played with such an AWESOME group of girls!

We are the Champions...

It was a tough weekend of ball games.
Trey's team played against a VERY unsportsmanlike team to see where
the Bonecrushers would end up in the playoffs.
Thankfully, we WON the game... 29 to 0 and we are in 2nd place overall in our division!
We have a 7 wins and 1 loss!!!
Sadly, there was a good bit of personal fouling from
some of the players on the opposing team.
Trey had his facemask jerked four times and his ankle twisted badly.
We had several players who were hit in the back or hit after the whistle.
But the coolest part of the whole game, fouls and all,
was watching our coaches and how they handled everything.
They told our boys to just point to the scoreboard when the other team
was badmouthing them and screaming ugliness at them.
Luke got very upset because of how many times Trey was face masked,
but he ultimately kept his cool and
set a good example for his son and the other boys on our team.
(Luke and Trey after Trey got hurt!)

Ambry's team had to play TWO games on Saturday!
A make up game and a regular season game.
The Lil' Sizzlers pulled out wins at both of their games!
Those sweet girls have only lost 1 game all season!!!
Their last game is this Tuesday evening and then they will participate
in a softball tournament later in the week.
(This was my favorite picture from Saturday.
Little Isabella on Ambry's team is HILARIOUS!
You never know what she is going to be doing
when she goes out on the field!!!  Love her!)

We will miss football and softball when our seasons come to an end.
Trey and Ambry have learned some very important lessons about teamwork,
grace, perseverance and competition.
We are so thankful to all of the coaches and parents and players who
made this season a success for the Bonecrushers and Lil' Sizzlers!!!

Swine and Stein

A picture of MEAT!
Yes, MEAT!
Boston butt that is... EIGHT of them!
We helped host the first annual SWINE AND STEIN on Friday night!
It was so much fun!!!
I wish I had taken more pictures.  I didn't get pictures of all of our friends
that came.  There were about 19 couples that attended.
We had kegs and wine and butt and beans and slaw and bread and mac and cheese
and cookies and brownies for dessert.
My favorite parts of the night were the hanging mason jar candles, spending lots of time with great friends and the BAND!
We got a three piece band from Musicology to come and play!!!
They took requests and they even played Tom Sawyer by Rush for me!!!
It was AWESOME!
Here are the shots I did get...
Chris, Kick, and Luke pulling the pork before the party!
The beautiful mason jar candles that Heather and Pam made.
They were hanging in the trees, from the deck, from the ceiling inside... just magical!
Lots of yummy wine!
Pumpkins and candles on all of the tables!
So fallish!!!
Lukey and I
and
Kick and Pam
We moved Heather's porch furniture down to the backyard to
make an outdoor seating area!  Very cozy!
All of the fall tables
Heather's unfinished basement was transformed using outdoor curtains
and her porch rug!  This is where the wine and food was!
Luke brought the old German beer steins my dad gave him years ago.
Luke and some of his buddies drank their beer out of these!
Pretty fitting for the Swine and Stein!
David, Torrie and Patrick!
The Musicology guys!
They ROCKED!!!
Bill and Ashley
Standing in the yard looking back up towards the house.
LOVE the glow of the candlelight!
Chris's contribution to the party decor...
He drove the "HOG" around back to hold the kegs!
Jennifer, Kristin and Bryon
Julie and Jimmy
Stacy, Pam, Me, Theresa, Julie, Heather
I am beaming because the band has just started playing
Tom Sawyer!
Singing along to one of my favorites!

Our amazing hosts...
Chris and Heather
(and I don't remember this guy's name on the left!)
We LOVED the inaugural run of Swine and Stein!
We have several new and improved ideas for next year's party!
I am already looking forward to it!
Thanks Chris and Heather for such a great night!!!
