A Decade!

Today Luke and I asked the question...
How has it already been a decade?
TEN years since the birth of our precious Trey!!!
We are so proud of our boy,
so thankful that God blessed us with an amazing son.

We started out Trey's BIRTHday with a #10 breakfast...
He wanted to wear his #10 football jersey from last year in honor of his
first completed decade!  :)

Then there were birthday cupcakes for his class as school!

After school, there were special cards in the mailbox, and then,
there was a very special delivery on the front porch...
Nana came to visit!
What a great 10th birthday surprise!!!
Trey chose spaghetti for supper
and then it was present time...
The Lanhams came over to celebrate with us and indulge in
Trey's birthday cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream!
I think Trey's favorite part of the day was trying out his new 410 in the backyard.
He was so ready to move up from a BB gun.
He wants to go hunting "for real" with his Daddy this fall.
August 31, 2001 changed our lives for the better.
What a gift we received on that day at 1:10 p.m.
8 pounds and 7 ounces of joy.
Now, 10 years later, Trey weighs ten times that,
and gives us ten times ten times ten times ten of that joy!
We love you Goog.
Happy Happy Birthday!!!

Lake Martin

Today was Grammy and Grumps 40th Wedding Anniversary!
We are SO thankful for them and for the example they are
of a loving and happy marriage!
We pray they have at least 40 MORE years together!!!

They came up to spend a few days at Dee Dee and Larry's lake house,
and they invited us to come over for the day today!
We had the best time.
Words that could paint a picture of our day would have to be:
sunny, happy, relaxed, adventure, aqua, cheerful, laughter, delicious, love and family.

The weather was bright and warm with a light breeze
and we couldn't have asked for better company!
Here are our favorite photos from our day on Lake Martin.
The view from Dee Dee and Larry's deck!  WOW!
On the lake looking back up towards their home!
 Trey loved tubing!
Trey and Ambry exploring the "island"!
 Ambry and Grammy floating along!
Ambry did not love tubing!  :)
Grammy and Dee Dee had a little birthday celebration for Trey!
We can't believe he is almost 10!!!

What a lovely day together!

Fall Sports!

We have had an action packed day!
Ambry had her first ever softball practice!
Her team is the Lil' Sizzlers.
She loved it so much!!!
She worked on catching and throwing and running and hitting.
We think the girls on her team are just precious!
Looks like it's going to be a great season.
We came home after practice for a quick lunch and to change clothes.
Trey then had his first football game of the season.
The Sharpsburg Stallions BONECRUSHERS played the Sandy Creek Patriots.
It was such an AWESOME first game... our team won 28 - 0!!!
Trey even got to carry the ball near the end of the game.
He loved that!
Trey is playing defensive tackle this year.
He too, has a strong team of great kids!
We are so thankful for fun fall sports
and dedicated coaches (our daddy included)!!!
Warming up before the game.
Praying before the game.

Run through!

Trey trying to break through the offensive line.
Kick off team.
 Our #57!
This was my favorite series of pictures!
(Of the 200 + I took!)
Trey broke through the offensive line and tried his best to sack the boy with the ball...

Still with him!
Just needed a little more speed!  :)

Here come some more Bonecrushers to help bring him down!

It's really special to see Trey and coach "Daddy" on the field!
GO #57!  GO BONECRUSHERS!!!

Pears and Okra!

I spent the day at my friend Heather's house today!
We call her home 'the compound'!
She lives on a lots of acres out in the country
and she grows a huge garden every year!
She called me on Sunday to tell me her pear tree was full of fruit!
Heather and her husband Chris picked a huge laundry basket full.
(Probably close to 80 pounds of pears, and that was from just half of the tree!!!)
Well this morning, Heather, Pam, and I gathered our jelly jars together
and canned Paula Deen's Pear Honey and Perky Pear Relish!
All the chopping and peeling and cooking was hardly noticed
because we got to laugh and spend girl time together.
We always say the ladies of the "olden days" knew what they were doing!
It's a blast to get together and can!!!
Heather sent us home with some fresh pears and a big bag of fresh okra.
I grilled the okra to eat with our supper and I made a pear cobbler for dessert.
My little family loved it all!  Wonderful!
SO thankful for generous friends that share their 'harvest'!!!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream!

One of my favorite things about being a stay at home mom
is the extra time I get to spend with my kids!
I feel really honored to get to volunteer at their school.
Trey's class earned all of their ROAR (behavior) points for the week,
so their teacher wanted to give them an ice cream party!
I loved getting to bring in ice cream and serve these sweet kiddos.
I'm just so thankful for every fun minute as mom!

This picture makes me laugh... so typical of Trey these days... Star Wars shirt,
sweaty hair, scabs, goofy grin.  I love my boy!

Some of Trey's fourth grade class.
Great kids!!!
