Rascal Flatts!

What better way to spend a Thursday night then out on the lawn at Lakewood
listening to Easton Corbin, Justin Moore, Sara Evans, and
RASCAL FLATTS!
We had a ball.
It rained a little, but we had Heather's quilt for shelter!!!
The weather was cool after the rain and there was a summer breeze too.
We danced and sang and did a lot of people watching.
(Apparently you're supposed to wear a short dress and cowboy boots to a country music show!)
We even ran into our friends Kimberly and Taylor Anne!
The music was fantastic all night long and then, Rascal Flatts' encore, was
Lionel Richie's 'Dancin' on the Ceiling'!!!
It was fun, catchy, and a little random
as Lionel was up there singing and dancing on a big TV screen.
We had some good laughs over that last song on the way back to the car.
So thankful to have gotten to share this fun girls night with sweet sweet friends!!!

Summer Fun!

It's been another great day.
I am so thankful for all of the fun we have been able to enjoy this summer.
Today was no exception!
We started the day at the YMCA.  Water aerobics for mommy!
Then we came home and got ready and met our friends Amy, Eric and Issac
for lunch at Fabiano's downtown.
It is one of our favorite restaurants!  Their garlic cheese knots are scrumptious!!!
After lunch, the six of us headed over to the Lynch Park Pool.
The kiddos swam and slid and splashed while the mommies talked and sunned!
We ended our pool time with slushies!

Tonight we attended the grand finale of Splish Splash Summer Bash at our church.
Water balloons, water games, sno cones, a giant bounce house,
and a water slide all made for a fantastic evening with our church family!

And finally, Luke and Brandon set up our tent, in the backyard,
for the kids to "camp" in!
We love their spirit of adventure!
We hope Trey, Ambry and their buddy Will make it through the night!!!

(Campout update... one little camper went home...two are left!)

Lunch and a Playdate!

One of my very favorite things to do is have friends over for a simple lunch and playdate!
Today we enjoyed Kim and Pam and their kiddos!
It was such a relaxing day.
The kids all got along well and the mommies all got to chit chat!
Just an ordinary summer day, but a wonderful one!!!

Anew Gray!

I have wanted to try out a gray paint in our home for awhile now...
I finally decided on a shade, called Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams.
After church on Sunday we went and got the paint
and then I painted our kitchen all by myself!
Luke was so shocked!
We usually hire someone to do painting in our home,
but I wanted to be more frugal and knew I could do this job myself!
I am really proud of how it turned out.
We went from a very warm gold color called Blonde to the cool Gray.
I think it gave our kitchen a whole new look... Anew look!  Ha!  :)

Distance makes the heart grow fonder!!!

Trey and Ambry aggravate each other ALOT these days... sometimes they just plain FIGHT!
Well, Trey has been at camp with our church and little sister has been missing her big brother!!!
I had to take pictures of what she did to his bedroom door to welcome him home tomorrow!
So sweet!!!
Luke and I love the magazine body cut outs and the spellings the most!

Switch Camp!

Trey left early this morning for 4 days of camp
with the fourth and fifth graders of our church!
His group at church is called Switch.
They are going to Toccoa, Georgia for Bible study, crazy games, water play,
lots of singing, eating, talking, and meeting new friends!
Trey was so excited about his trip!!!  (It was mommy who was a little nervous!)
He hasn't ever gone out of town with anyone other than his grandparents before!!!
I'm praying that God blesses all their socks off!
We can't wait to hear all the stories when Trey comes home on Monday afternoon.

In honor of our church's BLUE TEAM at camp, I made Trey
blue pancakes for breakfast...
you can't really tell they are blue in the picture!
He's all packed and ready to go!
Tons and tons of luggage and bags!
 Trey's best buddy Declan.
 Ambry kept hugging Trey goodbye!
She was a little nervous for him to go like I was!
 Here comes the bus!
Declan and Pam
Me and Trey
Another hug from Ambry!
(They are usually fighting these days, so this was really sweet!)
They loaded all of their stuff on their own!
Gosh, they seem so grown up!
Boarding the bus!
Goodbye!
We know you will have a blast and make so many memories!
I sure hope we didn't forget to pack anything!
She was sad for just a little while,
then it was on to the Y to workout and swim and then
lunch at a cool new restaurant called Sage!
I think someone is going to enjoy her "only child" status
for a few days!!!
We love you Trey and already miss you!!!

Play date and a movie!

Really enjoyed Cameron, Trey, Megan and Ambry today!
We had our friends over for a playdate and lunch after the Y this morning.
There was much laughter and loudness in the house!  :)
Then we went to see the movie Zookeeper this afternoon.
It was very funny... silly talking animals!
The kids all loved it.  This big kid did too.
Why can't school start in September instead of August 8th.
I don't want them to go back!!
Thank you Lukey for being such a good provider for our family.
Everyday I thank the Lord that I am able to stay home with my "babies"!

A Toe and some Tin!

Poor Lukey!
He now has this...

Four stitches in his foot!
All because I had the idea to make my own tin tile wall hangings for the huge wall in our great room.  I got the tin painted and distressed and had everything laid out on the floor in the great room ready for him to hang!  Well, he got in very late after being away for work, and the next morning he walked out into the great room to get to his cell phone on the kitchen counter.  On his way back to the bedroom, he tripped on the tin tiles and one of them sliced his foot!  Blood was EVERYWHERE!  We were at the emergency room at 6:45 in the morning.  Thankfully he was the only patient there at that time, so it took an hour total to get his stitches and get back home.
Today, he was feeling well enough to hang both wall pieces.
I really love them!  They fill up that wall behind our sofa and bring so much color and character into our great room!
Here is the new 'dangerous' art!!!
And my friend Heather suggested I paint our brown lamps a glossy cream to bring a little brightness to this side of the room.  I painted those and also our brown L is now blue.  We are enjoying the cheerful colors in the room.
Home decorating is always so much fun!  Especially the finished product.

Happy 40th Kristin!

What a night!!!
Dinner at Two Urban Licks in Atlanta...
The brisket, gouda grits, low country boil, and key lime chocolate dipped popsicles were to DIE FOR!

Then the party continued at Front Page News with the cover band The Geeks!
Once the band found out it was Kristin's 40th birthday they threw back to the 80's!
We danced and sang the night away!
Great night.
We love our crazy friends!!!

Welcome Baby Boy Gunter!

We're all so thankful that the Gunters are home in Georgia for a month this summer.
We threw a little GNO shower to celebrate the upcomming arrival of the newest Gunter!!!
Kim is having a baby boy and we showered her with gift cards... she has to be able to
fit everything in her suitcase for the return trip to California in August!
What a fun night with very special girlfriends.
Kim's sister Pam made the cutest little necktie onesie and bibs to go on our giftcard clothesline.
Only in the South... a fancy drink with a side of grilled okra!  :)
 Sweet friends!
 These girls are hilarious!
 Quite a spread of treats!
A beautiful mommy to 'almost' 3!
We love the Gunters!!!
