Mother's Day Weekend

What an awesome weekend!
As if my special birthday surprises weren't enough fun, the weekend was also full of love and good times!!!
On Friday night, we went to dinner at Little Hawaiian in Carrollton to celebrate the
May birthdays in our group of close friends.
(See the last picture in my previous birthday post.)
We had a ball and gorged ourselves
on all that fantastic Hawaiian food!  YUM!

On Saturday, we had a big cookout here at the house!
Twenty eight of us in all...
The Lanhams, the Hastys, the Adams, the Pattersons, the Briggs,
and Nana and Papaw joined us for fried fish, grilled mahi, cheese grits, onion rings, coleslaw salad, sausage,
and another special birthday cake...Thanks Nana!!!
We spent the day outside under our "pavillion"!
(Camper shelter with the camper pulled out.)
I wish I had taken some pictures of the festivities,
but I didn't.  I was too busy enjoying the party!
The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast running around outside. The grown ups placed a little wager on
the Kentucky Derby.  Lukey WON!
We are so blessed with a neighborhood full of great friends.

Sunday, was a fabulous Mother's Day.
Trey's was Baptized at our church!
We are so proud of him,
and his decision to ask Jesus to be his Savior!

Our church had a hilarious treat for all the moms.
I will try to post a video of the funny
rap they did to honor us.

After church we drove out to Serenbe for lunch at
The Blue Eyed Daisy.
It was so yummy and the little organic community has so much
to see and explore.
We hope to go back again soon.

We missed my mom and dad for Trey's Baptism and Mother's Day,
but we are so glad Grumps is recovering nicely from his surgery.
Grammy and Grumps sent Trey his very first Adventure Bible.
He was so excited to receive it!
We read a little last night together.
Papaw and Nana let Trey choose a tree to be planted in honor of his Baptism and how he will grow in his relationship with Christ.  He chose 2 grape vines!
We are so thankful for our thoughtful family and
how my parents and Luke's parents love our children so much!

God was surely smiling down on us this weekend.
