Attitude

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, say, or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.
It will make or break a company... a church... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday
regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me
and ninety percent how I react to it."

Promises

Every time I see a rainbow I marvel!
I stop what I am doing and gaze at it.
When I saw this one last week, I pulled my car over
to look and take a picture of the beauty!
Rainbows are one of my favorite sights in the natural world.
Each rainbow reminds me of how God always keeps His promises.
Standing on His promises I cannot fall,
Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

The Flag

Papaw gave Trey a VERY special gift for his tenth birthday!
It arrived in the mail yesterday.
At the request of Papaw to Senator Saxby Chambliss,
a flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of Trey
on his birthday, August 31st.
Trey got to keep the flag and a certificate from the U.S. Senate!
He was so excited about this gift!
Thank you Papaw for giving him something he will treasure always.
We are going to keep his flag in a special case
and then take it out and fly it on his birthday each year!
A very patriotic birthday tradition!!!

Bonecrushers!

Awesome Saturday of fall sports!
These are some of our favorite shots from Trey's game.
The Sharpsburg Stallions Bonecrushers played the Starrs Mill Panthers.
We won!  28 - 6!
The picture above was taken during the kick off.
That player, #15, didn't see Trey coming in for a big block!
He was flattened!
The picture below is Trey's team taking a knee while #15's coach had to come and
help him off the field!
Look for #57 in the following photos...
He got him by the ankles!
Then the ones below...
Trey won't give up!
He gets his opponent by the jersey and keeps a hold of him until his teammates
get there to finish the job!
Tackle for a loss!

Trey on the bench and Ambry coloring to pass the time until her game!
 Halftime under the bleachers!
The boys got to play on a high school field!
It was awesome!
 Check out the pass...
(see the ball in the air)
Trey almost got an interception!
 Trey on their ball!
 MUCH excitement
because Daniel kicked a field goal!
 Final Score!
Go Bonecrushers!
Good sportsmanship!
Trey and Mommy!
We're so proud of our
football player and our softball player!

Knee Socks!

We have a long hallway in our house that Trey and Ambry have always loved to "slide" down!  They put on soccer socks and run and slide or they get pillows and run and jump onto the pillows on their stomach and slide
or they have us pull them on a blanket to slide!
Last night, they put their knee socks on
and wanted to try something new!
They had their Daddy pull them by their arms down the hall!
Luke pulled faster and faster!
(What a good workout for him!!!)
By bedtime all of our tummies were sore from laughing so hard!

Game Day!

Today brought Ambry's first softball game of the season and Trey's third football game!
We are knee deep in rec sporting events!!!

Ambry's team, the Lil' Sizzlers played the Vipers!
Ambry got to play third base and she did a wonderful job.
She got two girls out!!!
She has the sweetest little team, and her coaches are very patient
and such great teachers!
GO #5!!!
There goes #5... ready for her first game!
The Lil' Sizzlers take the field!
Ambry running in to hit from third base!
There were some silly spectators in the stands!

I loved this picture of little Brooke!
Pure Joy!
 Ambry ready to hit!
 Love that catcher!!!
Our family all decked out in our orange and black!
Papaw and Nana were some spirited fans!!!

Trey's team played the Fayette County Blue Devils!
We had a rough start to the game, but the Bonecrushers got it together
and ended up winning 13 - 0!
Trey had a few good tackles!  He also had to play offense for part of the game
as one of our players hurt his knee last week.
Go #57!!!!
We had cheerleaders this week!  Great run-through!
Love this next series of 3 pictures...
Watch out for #57!

Trey doing some drive blocking on offense!
 The wedge!
 Halftime!
Trey watching Drake score!
 Final score!
This picture is so special... Declan and Trey have grown up together at church.
They were in the nursery together as babies!
They were on the same football team last year and we sure do miss hanging out with
them during the games!
Declan and his family came to see The Bonecrushers play today!
Best Buddies!!!

Greens!

I didn't want to forget what Trey said
tonight at the dinner table!
I made a quick supper of grilled chicken and shrimp
over spinach salad.
Easy and healthy!
We were all at the table eating
and everybody cleaned their plates except for Trey.
He ate all of his food while leaving a big pile of the spinach salad.
I said to him, "Trey, please eat your greens!"
He said to me,
"Right now is one of the times I wish I was a wizard...
so I could turn these greens into some cake!"

He's Got This!

I got some news I wasn't expecting this week.
I have had a cyst in my right breast for several months now.
It was found during my first mammogram.
The doctor then had an ultrasound performed because it looked a little different,
but he determined it was just a cyst.
He wanted me to come back for a follow up ultrasound in six months.
I went for that ultrasound in August and after looking at
my cyst again, my doctor decided to do a needle aspiration.
I had that procedure done last week.
The doctor sent the fluid he removed from the cyst to be tested.
I got the results yesterday.
Apparently, the fluid he removed had a few
"slightly irregular" cells in it.
This was not what I wanted to hear.
I had hoped the nurse would call and say everything was fine and dandy!
So...
I am now scheduled for a consultation with a breast specialist.
He will look over my films and pathology report.
Then we will schedule a surgery to have the cyst removed for further testing.
So many thoughts have gone through my mind.
I have thought about scenarios that are wonderful and let myself
think about scenarios that are horrible.
I have cried a little bit.

But one thing stands out to me.
Even more so than the worry
or the wonder about what these atypical cells are.
Even more so than how all of this will turn out.

I have asked myself many times over the last two days,
How do people get through tough times without The Lord?
What do you do if you don't have God to call on,
to cry to, to question, to trust and to talk to?

I am so thankful that my HOPE is in Jesus Christ.
I believe He has a plan for my life and His plan is a perfect one.
I have a huge network of friends and loved ones praying for me.
As one of my fellow substitute teachers said this week:
"Andrea, God's got this!"
I am holding on to that truth!
He's got this!
I just know He is holding me in the palm of His hand.

Game #2 vs. Starrs Mill

The Bonecrushers played the Panthers today!
They played SO HARD and we thought they had the game won!
The score was 6 to 0 for the Bonecrushers all the way until the last 14 seconds of the game!
The Panthers scored 6 and put us into overtime.
We didn't score in overtime (we had the ball first) and then they did score.
It was a TOUGH loss!
12 to 6!
Here are some of our favorite shots from today...
GO #57!
This next one is our FAVORITE!

The photo below makes me LAUGH... on the kick off return, Trey went to block this kid and he turned and ran the other way!!!!!!!  It was so funny!
Luke counted 9 tackles that Trey had during this game!
He had two for loss of yards!
We are so proud of how far he has come in football!
He might not be the biggest or the fastest, but he sure does have a lot of heart and a love for the game!
GO BONECRUSHERS!
