We had a wonderful, winding, WET Fourth!
We started out our Independence Day early this morning with patriotic
donuts for breakfast! The kids were surprised and thrilled by our Dunkin' Donuts run! :)
Then, Lukey had seen a cool jeep trail in Southern Living magazine.
He found directions to the trail online and we set out to spend a
day riding over the trail in our jeep! The trail happened to be near our lake lot
on Lake Wedowee, so we made a stop by there on the way.
Exploring the bank of our lot!
View of the cove from our lot.
Skipping rocks!
On to the jeep trail!
They got to stand up for some of the trail! They loved it!
An old bridge we had to cross.
We didn't get to complete the trail because we had to head
home in time for the fireworks display in Newnan.
We hope to come back and ride again soon!
After a quick change at home, we waited on Pam and Declan to come over for some pre-fireworks fireworks!
Then we all headed to the Newnan High School Stadium for the big fireworks show!
We met up with Chris, Heather, Maddie, and Elisabeth!
Pam and Declan are always so much fun!
We missed Kick and Claire and Way! Claire was sick! :(
Our Family!
The kiddos had a ball exploring the bouncers and the stadium!
Trey and Declan did quite a bit of rolling down the hill!
Running on the track!
These two did a lot of people watching!
We were entertained by the band from Musicology!
(Where Trey and Ambry take their lessons!)
Ambry's drum teacher Mr. Torrie was playing tonight.
At one point Ambry made him laugh, he looked over at her
and she had made a drum set out of water bottles and our cooler
and she was playing along with him!
It was hilarious!!!
Maddie had very festive toes!
Watching the fireworks!
One of the only pictures I took of the fireworks!
We ended up getting FLOODED with a rainstorm and having to RUN to the car!
We were able to watch the show from the car!
Luke and Chris predicted the storm and they were prepared,
but Pam and Heather and I wanted to stay on the field until the very last
second. So of course we got WET!!!
Rain and all, it was a wonderful and memorable Fourth of July!
We are so thankful to live in the U.S.A.
and enjoy our FREEDOM!
Thank you to God and to all those who fight for it!!!
