Aunt Mattie

Lukey and Becky really helped out with all my "mom duties" so that I could make a quick
overnight trip to Moultrie to attend Aunt Mattie's family Christmas party!
She hosted the get together at Blackbeard's restaurant in Albany, GA.
We celebrated Christmas as well as Uncle Randy's, Cal's and Faye's birthdays!
It was fun to do a little Christmas shopping and gift exchange beforehand
with Lukey's Mama, Aunt Kathy, and Mary Logan too!

The Lucas Family Christmas 2011

Little Christmas party hats...
Prince Alfie all decked out and ready to celebrate...
A yummy cake...
It must be time for the Lucas Family Christmas!
This year, our festivities with Lukey's side of the family were held at our house!
Our theme for the weekend, was Happy Birthday Jesus!!!!
There's the littlest party-goer helping Nana put the gifts under the tree.
Papaw and Nana give the kids an "early" gift to open each year.
This year they were so excited to receive...
 MARSHMALLOW SHOOTERS!
It turned into an all out marshmallow war in our backyard!
And with a marshmallow war comes marshmallow SNOW!
One of our other festivities was the construction of a
gingerbread NATIVITY.
This was a two day process.  We mixed, rolled, cut, baked and decorated.
Creativity gets a little messy sometimes!
 Our finished product was precious!

Flitter wore her red Christmas bandana this weekend,
this pup likes to party too!
 Everyone loves present time...
Ambry and Allison were very into the American Doll world this year.
Nana and all of their dolls!
Kit and Julie in their new pj's!
We're so thankful for a fun-filled family weekend!
It was awesome to see the Christmas JOY on these four sweet faces!

Decorations!

Lukey does such a great job on our
"outdoor illumination" each year for Christmas!
We are thankful for our very own Clark Griswold!!!
And while "Clark" does the outside decor, I love to do the inside!
Trees and lights and santas and ornaments and gifts...
ALL to celebrate the greatest gift God ever gave us,
Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

He's so elfy!

Prince Alfie is so silly!
Here, the kids made a "walk through" Christmas
village in the laundry room and the next day they
found our crazy elf enjoying it himself!
The kids found PA playing Twister in the playroom
with some "friends" one morning!
 Ride em' Alfie!
On this day, Ambry wouldn't let anyone near the m & m's!
So sweet... reading to all the nativity Little People
and Playmobile about Baby Jesus!
He got a little crazy with the Expo marker!
He really likes syrup!
He likes to party!  (Happy Birthday Jesus!!!)
Trey made him a stocking and filled it with goodies one night.
Alfie was holding his stocking in the morning
and all of the candy was gone!
He brought donuts for breakfast on Christmas Eve!
He even had a little tray of elf sized donuts!!!
Prince Alfie always ends up somewhere
near baby Jesus on Christmas Eve!

We love our Elf!!!

Ornament Party!

One of my favorite Christmas party traditions is the ornament party we have with our sweet group of girlfriends each year!  We have been making ornaments for 8 years now!
We used to make an ornament for each friend and then we would come home from the
party with 8 new ornaments each year.  We quickly realized that it's just as much
fun to all get together and make one ornament.  This year I got to host the party!
Pam, Kristin, Becky, Kelly, Michelle, Me, Heather
Working on our ornaments after lots of chit chatting and girl time and FOOD!
Our finished snowmen!  Made from bottle caps and ribbon and paint.
I found the idea on Pinterest!
Merry Christmas to my sweet ornament friends!!!
